The association "Verein zur Forderung del Bevolkerung Spitis", subsequently named Spiti-Help, was founded in Innsbruck, Austria, and aims to aid the preservation of the traditional Tibetan medicine. This contribution will be based on financial and material support, as well as on establishing an organizational structure. Members who will cover the project development on the spot are: Project manager: Dorje Tsering; Tibetan doctors: Tsering Tashi, Tsering Angmo, Pema Dolma, Tsering Tomden, the nuns of the Yangchen Choling (Pangmo) and Sherab Choling (Morang) convent, the Sowa Rigpa Association (Regd No. 4/2002 dated Spetember 5th 2002). The locations will be the villages of Hansa, Kjoto, Pangmo, Hull, Morang, Sumling, Kurik and Rangrki in the upper Spiti valley (Himachal Pradesch, India). Project duration forecast: from 10 to 15 years. During the first year (July 2003 - July 2004) annual supply of medicaments to the doctors will be provided |
